Since the 1881 opening of Francois Loree’s oboe factory in France, Loree oboes have been known around the world for their high quality. Each Loree oboe, has its own unique sound and character. Loree has assumed a dominant place in the market, frankly due to a lack of other manufacturers’ presence in the market. As a result of Loree’s high quality craftsmanship and well known name, buying a Loree has become a safe choice.
I carry two kinds of Loree oboes:
* The AK bore: This bore is based on the AK series oboes. This instrument has a somewhat more conical bore than other Loree models, making it more narrow near the top and slightly wider at the bell. The resulting sound is focused and dark, with less of an edge to it. This bore is very popular.
* The Royal is made of the densist grenadilla wood with a thicker bore wall. The Royal is considered to be Loree’s premiere oboe.
Loree oboes are available in grnadilla wood regularly. Rosewood and Violetwood are available by special order. Click Here to visit the Loree websit.
